NFL bans goal post dunk celebrations: Lambeau Leap not in jeopardy

The NFL is cracking down on the goal post celebration, much to the dismay of Jimmy Graham and Tony Gonzalez, but Green Bay Packers fans fear not; the Lambeau Leap is not in jeopardy of being banned by the league.

"The goal post issue is the potential delay of game for having to re-set the crossbar after knocked askew by a dunker," NFL senior vice president of communications Greg Aiello told ESPN. "It has happened a few times. Not the case for the [Lambeau] Leap."

The Lambeau Leap has become a tradition when a Packer player scores a touchdown at home. LeRoy Butler and legendary Green Bay defensive end Reggie White introduced the celebration in 1993.
