The Minnesota Vikings have their franchise quarterback.

The Vikings traded up to the Seattle Seahawks' No. 32 pick to select former Louisville signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater and close out the first round of the draft in dramatic fashion Thursday night.

The price to move up? The Vikings' second-round and fourth-round picks.

Bridgewater started all 13 games for Louisville in 2013, completing 71 percent of his passes for 3,970 yards and a staggering 31 to 4 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Bridgewater was nearly as good in 2012, completing 68.5 percent of his passes for 3,718 yards and a 27 to 8 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Though Bridgewater lacks the raw physical abilities some of the other quarterbacks in his draft class boast, he makes up for it with excellent football savvy, poise, toughness and sound mechanics.

Once considered the clear-cut top quarterback in this class, Bridgewater struggled through a poor pro day and saw his draft stock drop in the eyes of some analysts.

Clearly, the Vikings are still believers in the notion that Bridgewater has what it takes to succeed at the next level.
