LaMarr Woodley believes Raiders are a playoff team
The Oakland Raiders haven't had a winning season in more than a decade, but recent acquisition LaMarr Woodley believes the team is on the verge of returning to the postseason.
"I can definitely see us as a playoff team," Woodley said in an interview on KGMZ-FM on Tuesday.
"Last year going back and watching some film on the Raiders, there were a lot of opportunities here where they just didn't close it out. Some games good in the first half, they just didn't close it out at the end of the game. So now we just have to learn how to close out games and it'll be more wins than losses."
The Raiders overhauled their starting lineups on both sides of the ball this offseason, bringing in several veteran players in addition to Woodley with experience in the playoffs (including Matt Schaub, Maurice Jones-Drew, James Jones, Justin Tuck and Carlos Rogers).
Frankly, Woodley's belief that the Raiders will return to the postseason actually sounds downright conservative compared to Maurice Jones-Drew's comments earlier this month about Schaub leading the Raiders to the Super Bowl.
