2013 - Browns sign Brian Hoyer to two-year deal
After being released by the Arizona Cardinals, quarterback Brian Hoyer signs a two-year deal with the Cleveland Browns worth $1.97 million.
Hoyer, a Cleveland native, started three games in 2013 before being placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL. He finished the season with 615 yards passing, five touchdowns, and three interceptions.
1999 - Fred Lane re-signs with Panthers

Fred Lane signs a two-year, $1.276-million deal - including a $300,000 signing bonus - to return to the Carolina Panthers for a third season.
Lane rushed for 2,001 yards and 13 touchdowns on 502 carries during his three-year NFL career - which, tragically, came to an end on July 6, 2000 after he was shot and killed by his estranged wife.
Deidra Lane plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in 2003 and was released from prison in 2009.
