Report: Ravens intended to draft running back Terrance West; Browns scooped him
Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Terrance West told the media the Baltimore Ravens informed his agent during the draft that they planned to select him with the No. 99 overall pick, Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer reports.
That didn't happen, as the Browns traded up to acquire pick No. 94 overall and scoop up the Towson product.
West's revelation lends further credence to the rumors the Ravens are unhappy with their running back situation. Veteran Ray Rice was very disappointing a season ago, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry, and backup Bernard Pierce wasn't much better.
