Jerry Rice Jr. declines to wear No. 80 with 49ers
Jerry Rice Jr. is probably never going to escape his father's shadow. That is especially true when you share his name and are attempting to make the San Francisco 49ers as a wide receiver.
One thing Rice Jr. won't be sharing is his dad's jersey number.
Jerry Rice Jr. was offered No. 80 for 49ers rookie camp. He turned it down, saying he wanted to be his own man. He'll wear No. 83.

Rice Jr. is a long shot to crack the squad. If he does, it won't be with the illustrious No. 80.
