Report: Lamar Miller works with Dolphins starters at OTAs

Running back Lamar Miller was a surprising participant on the field with the Miami Dolphins starters at OTAs on Monday, the Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly reports.

Per Kelly, Miller took "the bulk of [the] snaps" with the Dolphins' first team.

Miller is presumed to be a backup on the team's depth chart after former Denver Broncos tailback Knowshon Moreno was signed in free agency ostensibly to be the starter. Moreno didn't necessarily receive starter's money, however - he got a one-year deal worth $3 million - and some reports suggest he hasn't looked good at OTAs.

Philbin  told reporters that Miller and Moreno will compete to start.

"There is competition everywhere. We're looking for everybody to step up and compete," Philbin said. "Push each other as a football team in general."

Philbin also revealed that Moreno is overweight, saying the team wants him to shed a few pounds before training camp.
