Dallas Cowboys tight ends coach Mike Pope is looking to try some different things in minicamp. On Wednesday, Pope's group of tight ends were wearing swimming goggles while running routes.
"You kind of can’t see out of the corner of your eyes, so it keeps you focused on [having your head] take you to the ball. I did pretty good today, but it’s a work in progress," Jason Witten told the Dallas Morning News.
As well as the goggles, Pope introduced blocking sleds and medicine balls into their practices.
Head coach Jason Garrett approves of the goggles and all other techniques even if the players were tentative:
"I think our guys have all really embraced him and the different things that he has showed them that they haven’t seen before," he said.
Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of the goggle drill at this time.
