Texans' Brian Cushing: 'I'll be ready' for Week 1
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
After declaring himself "100 percent" healthy in April, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing is confident he'll be ready for the start of the season.
"I know I'll be ready," Cushing said Tuesday night, via the team website. "I know when it's go-time, and I need to ramp it up and get on the field, I'll be there."
Cushing was limited to seven games last season because of a right leg injury, and did not participate in any of the Texans' offseason team activities. Though unsure of when he'll be able to return to practice, Cushing remains optimistic.
"I'm still working out every day," he said. "I'm just trying to be the best I can possibly be, come time for the camp. Come time for the season. The training staff’s done an unbelievable job."
