When Ndamukong Suh steps on the practice field Sunday to begin training camp, he will be embarking on the final year of his massive restructured rookie contract with the Detroit Lions.
The defensive tackle will cost $22.4 million against the Lions' cap in 2014, but uncertainty remains regarding both his future income, and which NFL owner will ultimately be tasked with signing his cheques.
The stakes are mighty high for the talented 307-pounder, whose situation is further complicated by an inability to stay within Roger Goodell's good graces, but Suh remains unconcerned with anything other than football.
"That's what you've got agents for," Suh said via ESPN.com news services. "They can take care of business, and just go from there."
He adds: "I can focus on football, and that's my job, and that's what I'm going to do."
As ESPN notes, the Lions can keep Suh in the fold with the franchise tag. However, circumventing his free agency would cost a staggering $26.7 million.
