Vikings may hold Adrian Peterson out of entire preseason
Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports
Adrian Peterson may not receive a single carry in the preseason, according to his head coach.
Mike Zimmer told me he has nothing to see from Adrian Peterson in preseason. If he wants to get a carry or 2, he will. But may just get none

Peterson isn't hurt, but Zimmer clearly understands the risk of a preseason injury.
The 29-year-old is entering his eighth NFL season. With 2,033 regular season carries under his belt, it's hard to question Zimmer's motives, unless you believe in the value of preseason reps as a necessary precursor for regular season success.
Peterson has nothing to prove, but it will be interesting to see how much (or how little) he is used in the exhibition games.
