Seahawks call Marshawn Lynch assault allegations 'bogus'
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
The Seattle Seahawks issued a statement Tuesday in response to allegations that emerged Monday suggesting Marshawn Lynch was involved in an assault over the weekend.
"While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process … we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the release reads, per NFL.com.
Local police said Monday they were investigating whether Lynch was involved in the alleged incident, but stressed that he isn't considered a suspect at this time, nor have they determined a crime was committed. There has been no update on the matter since then.
Until more information emerges, it appears likely this will simply blow over.
