Falcons' initial cuts include linebacker Angerer
The Atlanta Falcons began the process of trimming their roster to 53 players Friday, releasing a pair of inside linebackers that includes Pat Angerer.
Enjoyed my time in ATL, unfortunately it's come to an end here. First class org and first class people. They gave me a chance when no1 would

Angerer, a former starter for the Indianapolis Colts, signed with the Falcons in July.
Yawin Smallwood, a 2014 seventh-round pick by the Falcons, also got the axe.
Both cuts are mildly surprising, as Atlanta appears, at least on the surface, to lack depth in the interior of its linebacking corps.
The Falcons have also released/waived fullback Maurice Hagens, defensive end Nosa Eguae, cornerback Jordan Mabin, wide receiver Freddie Martino, safety Kimario McFadden, tight end Jacob Pedersen, offensive lineman Adam Replogie, defensive tackle Donte Rumph, offensive tackle Pat McQuistan and running back Josh Vaughan.
