Report: Dolphins move on from tailback Daniel Thomas

Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas was informed of his release Saturday ahead of the NFL's deadline for roster cuts, Andrew Abramson of The Palm Beach Post reports

A second-round pick in 2011, Thomas failed to make a significant impact on the team's offense. He carried the ball 109 times for 406 yards and four touchdowns a season ago in a timeshare with Lamar Miller.

The move leaves Miller and Knowshon Moreno atop the Dolphins' depth chart at running back, with Damien Williams serving as depth.
