Report: Patriots give up on recent trade acquisition Worthy
Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters
The New England Patriots negotiated a trade for former Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Jerel Worthy a little more than two weeks ago.
Saturday, the Patriots decided they had seen enough and sent Worthy packing as one of their roster cuts, per Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe.
It's unknown what the Patriots agreed to send the Packers in exchange for Worthy. If it was a conditional late-round draft pick, as many believe, there's a chance the Patriots will be off the hook now that Worthy has failed to make the team.
