The Kansas City Chiefs waived 2013 fourth-round pick Nico Johnson ahead of the NFL's roster cutdown deadline Saturday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
Johnson failed to carve out a significant role for himself on the Chiefs' defense. The recent injury to Joe Mays created a bit of hope that Johnson would squeak onto the final roster, but apparently the Chiefs have other plans for filling in their linebacker depth.
