Dolphins activate Mike Pouncey off PUP list

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey will open the season on the 53-man roster after being activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Pouncey is still several weeks away from returning to action, but had the Dolphins kept him on the PUP list following Saturday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, he would have been forced to miss the first six games of the season.

By activating Pouncey, it appears the Dolphins anticipate him returning sooner than expected.
