Earl Thomas named Seahawks primary punt returner

It looks as though safety Earl Thomas will be performing double duties when the Seattle Seahawks open the regular season against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
According to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Thomas, a three-time Pro Bowler, will serve as the team's primary punt returner.
Thomas, who hasn't returned a single regular season punt in his four-year NFL career, averaged 17 yards on four returns in the preseason, including a 59-yarder during the Seahawks 34-6 victory over the Chicago Bears on Aug. 22.
