The San Francisco 49ers scored less than a minute into the game and never looked back, cruising to a 28-17 season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys. Don't let the 11-point margin of victory fool you, this was a blowout.
Here's what you need to know ...
- San Francisco scored just 54 seconds into the game when Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray fumbled and Chris Culliver returned it 35 yards for a touchdown.
- Culliver would later be forced out of the game and did not return after suffering a concussion.
- Frank Gore had 16 carries for 63 yards and went over 10,000 career rushing yards in the process, becoming the 29th player in NFL history to reach that mark.

- The Cowboys turned it over four times in the first half (three interceptions, one fumble) and the 49ers converted those turnovers into 21 points to take a 28-3 lead at the half.
- The 25-point deficit at halftime was the largest in Cowboys history for a season opener.
- Murray was a bright spot for Dallas, rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. However, his first quarter fumble put the Cowboys in an early hole.
- Romo has now thrown three interceptions in a half three different times in his career.
- Romo threw two interceptions on his first 12 passes of the season. Last year he didn't throw his second interception until his 188th pass.
