Report: X-rays of Jamaal Charles' ankle come back negative
Chris Humphreys / USA TODAY Sports
The initial prognosis on the injured ankle of Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles sounds promising, as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk and Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star are both reporting that X-rays of his ankle came back negative for a broken bone.
Charles is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury suffered during a loss to the Denver Broncos. Depending on the type of sprain, he could be sidelined anywhere from two to six weeks.
The 27-year-old has nine rushing attempts for 23 yards so far this season.
