Seattle Seahawks tight end Zach Miller spent part of his bye week undergoing a surgical procedure on his ankle, FOX Sports reports.
The veteran tight end is expected to be sidelined for an extended period as he recovers from the surgery.
Miller played through an ankle injury in the Seahawks' win over the Denver Broncos prior to their bye. It's unclear if he aggravated the injury in that game.
With Miller out, tight ends Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet are expected to take on larger roles.
