Barry Sanders says Marshawn Lynch is NFL's best running back
Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders issued high praise for Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch on Saturday.
The four-time rushing champion, widely considered to be one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, is a big fan of Beast Mode.
Asked which running back he'd select to build a team around if he were a general manager, Sanders campaigned for the Seahawks star.
"Maybe I would go with a Marshawn Lynch, especially since I'm not actually behind that oak desk,” Sanders said to Yahoo! Sports. "There's going to be no real repercussions for making this decision - he's the guy I'd start a team with."
“Very effective, the guy has been healthy, he can run in a very physical style but also slippery and elusive. Good speed, can hurt you from anywhere on the field. A good pass blocker and an all-around good football player. If I can pick one running back, I'd start with him.”
Lynch was a vital member of the Seahawks' Super Bowl championship last season and has rushed for 549 yards and five touchdowns this year.
