New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks has already had surgery on his broken thumb and is expected to miss four to six weeks, according to his agent Jeff Sperbeck.
It had earlier been reported that the injury would sideline Cooks for two to four weeks.
The Saints will now rely upon receivers Kenny Stills and Marques Colston to pick up their production in Cooks' absence.
