Bears' Jon Bostic remains optimistic on Lance Briggs' status
Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs was forced out of Sunday's 21-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a groin injury and did not return.
Briggs needed help to the sideline after he was tended to on the field by the team's training staff and was eventually escorted to the locker room.
In the last year of his contract with the Bears, a season-ending injury would effectively end Briggs' tenure in Chicago.
Fellow linebacker Jon Bostic remained optimistic about Briggs' status after the game, saying he "should hopefully be back soon."
“We gotta replace his production, someway, some how,” he said, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times. “It’s gonna take all of us. Lance is a great player. It’s going to take all of (us) playing together, playing well.”
Undrafted rookie Christian Jones played weak side linebacker in Briggs' place after he went down.
