Raiders place Carlos Rogers on IR

Oakland Raiders cornerback Carlos Rogers was placed on season-ending injured reserve Saturday with a knee injury.
The Raiders had already ruled Rogers out for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, and, sensing a return was not imminent, they went a step further and ended his season.
Rogers has missed the team's last four games with the knee issue and will turn 34 next summer, but some team may take a chance on him in the offseason on another one-year deal.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders promoted running back George Atkinson III to the active roster from the practice squad.
