Ravens' Haloti Ngata suspended 4 games for use of PEDs
Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata has been suspended four games for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy.
Ngata took full responsibility for the suspension in a statement released by the Ravens:
"I made a mistake and I own this, I took Adderall and take full responsibility for doing this. I am deeply sorry and broken up over this. I let down my family, my teammates, Ravens fans and myself. My hope is that the Ravens make the playoffs, and I believe they can do this. And, then I can come back and help us win."
"This is disappointing news for the Ravens," general manager Ozzie Newsome added. "We are disappointed with Haloti, but no more than he is with himself."
The five-time Pro Bowler will be eligible to play in the postseason should the Ravens make it. He can return to the active roster on Dec. 29.
Haloti Ngata will lose $2 million from his $8.5 million base salary. That number will be subtracted from the Ravens' salary cap
