Mettenberger, who suffered a Grade 3 shoulder sprain/AC joint separation Sunday against the Giants, is done for the season, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Analysis:

Wyatt adds that it appears Mettenberger won't require surgery, but the injury is significant enough to sideline the rookie signal caller for the final three games of the Titans' season. As a result, Jake Locker is expected to reclaim the team's starting QB job down the stretch. With Locker slated to become a free agent this offseason, Mettenberger is in line to have an opportunity to compete for the team's starting assignment next year. Fellow QB Charlie Whitehurst remains under contract with Tennessee for 2015.
