Report: 49ers' NaVorro Bowman not expecting to play this season

It appears NaVorro Bowman won't be suiting up for the San Francisco 49ers this season.
The team opened the 21-day practice/evaluation window for the linebacker in late November, and have until Tuesday to either activate him to the 53-man roster or place him on injured reserve.
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Bowman isn't expecting to return to the 49ers' lineup, though no formal decision regarding his activation has been made at this point.
The two-time Pro Bowler gruesomely tore his ACL and MCL during last January's NFC Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks.
