An Orleans Parish grand jury indicted former NFL safety Darren Sharper on two counts of aggravated rape on Friday.
Sharper's alleged accomplice, Erik Nunez, and St. Bernard Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Licciardi were also indicted by the grand jury. If convicted, all three men face a possible life sentence.
Sharper and Nunez are accused of raping two women inside Sharper's New Orleans apartment on Sept. 23, 2013.
Sharper has remained behind bars in Los Angeles since his arrested in February on similar charges. He has pleaded not guilty in California and has denied allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted women in Louisiana, Nevada and Florida.
