Jon Gruden has signed a contract extension with ESPN that will keep him with the network through 2021

Gruden was heavily rumored to be interested in a potential coaching vacancy, most notably with the Oakland Raiders if the club fired Tony Sparano.

The 51-year-old was hired by ESPN in May 2009 to replace Tony Kornheiser on Monday Night Football.

Prior to his broadcasting career, Gruden coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2002 to 2008, winning the franchise's lone Super Bowl in his first year with the club.
