Aaron Rodgers thought he suffered torn Achilles
When Aaron Rodgers went down clutching his leg on Sunday, Green Bay Packers fans feared the worst. And so did Rodgers.
Fortunately, he only re-aggravated his calf injury, but Rodgers said Tuesday on ESPN Radio he thought he'd seriously injured his Achilles.
"My initial thought was I popped my Achilles," Rodgers said. "That's why I kind of stayed down. It was a very painful sensation."
Despite the scare, Rodgers feels he can get his calf in good shape thanks to the bye week.
"Fortunate that we have two weeks here because I feel confident that I'll be in a better spot than I was going into the Lions game with an extra week of rest," he said.
Rodgers has been receiving treatment, but has no set date for when he'll return to practice.
"Mike is going to give me as much time off as I need working up to it," Rodgers said. "But I'm going to want to get some on the field reps starting next week when we get into our preparation when we figure out who our opponent is."
