Saints' Junior Galette booked on domestic violence, simple battery charges
Additional details have emerged of the incident that led to the arrest of New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette in Kenner, La. on Monday.
Police told Ramon Antonio Vargas of the New Orleans Advocate that Galette and his cousin, Terrance Banks Jr., were both booked on domestic violence and simple battery charges after a woman accused Galette of pushing her to the ground at his home.
The woman is not in a relationship with Galette, but used to live with him and cooks and cleans for him, police said. She had visible injuries and was bleeding as a result of having her earring ripped out.
According to police, Galette disputed the woman's account, claiming she was a dancer who was supposed to leave his house Sunday night, but he let her leave Monday morning instead.
The woman told police that she was jumped by Galette and his cousin, who allegedly took the phone from her as she dialed 911.
Galette and Banks Jr. are facing misdemeanors and will be able to post bond.
