The Arizona Cardinals appear reluctant to let wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald walk.
The team and Fitzgerald's agent have engaged in early talks about a new contract, according to Kent Somers of AZ Central Sports.
Money has not been discussed as of yet, but with Fitzgerald due an $8 million bonus if he's on the roster on March 17 and a $23.6-million cap number, the team will be looking to reduce his salary.
Fitzgerald has not made a decision regarding his future but reports of him being finished in Arizona appear to be premature.
That being said, he could play almost anywhere for a reasonable salary, making contending teams an attractive option for the career Cardinal.
One thing appears certain, the Cardinals are unwilling to move forward with Fitzgerald at his current price tag.
