Report: Marshawn Lynch faces 'significant fine' for wearing unauthorized hat
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch reportedly fulfilled his Media Day obligations and won't be fined $500,000 as a result of not answering questions, but his wallet could still become a little lighter in the coming days.
ESPN's Adam Schefter and Darren Rovell report Lynch faces a "significant fine" for wearing an unauthorized "BeastMode" hat to Media Day.
NFL players are not permitted to wear brands that conflict with league partners during official league events. Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher learned this when he was fined $100,000 for wearing a Vitaminwater hat for a pre-Super Bowl press conference in 2007.
Lynch's website is selling the hat he wore to Media Day for $33 (though the item is currently out of stock).
