The Cleveland Browns have reached a deal to make Kevin O'Connell their new quarterbacks coach, FOX Sports's Alex Marvez reports.
The former quarterback spent time with five different teams over the course of a six-year NFL career. His first coaching gig will involve helping Johnny Manziel become a high-end starter. No pressure.
O'Connell and Manziel are already familiar with each other, with the former assisting the latter in his pre-draft preparation.
Additionally, the Browns will reportedly make Kurt Roper a senior offensive assistant. Roper was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida in 2014. He spent the five previous seasons in the same role with Duke.
