49ers CEO Jed York confident team can retain Frank Gore
Frank Gore has spent the entirety of his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers and CEO Jed York doesn't anticipate the running back going anywhere.
York told reporters he is confident the 49ers will be able to retain Gore for 2015 after the Miami product has spent the first 10 years of his career with the franchise.
Gore rushed for 1,106 yards and four touchdowns last season, reaching the 1,000-yard plateau for the eighth time in his career and for the fourth consecutive season.
"I think we'll figure out a way. That's my feeling," York said to the San Francisco Chronicle's Ann Killion about keeping Gore.
San Francisco selected Gore in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft and he's been the fulcrum of the offense for the past decade.
If he enters free agency, Gore will likely have a few suitors in spite of the fact that he's 31 and has plenty of career mileage.
The 49ers will likely give the brunt of the carries to Carlos Hyde if Gore doesn't return to the club next season.
