Report: DeMarco Murray's agent, Cowboys spoke Monday evening

DeMarco Murray and the Dallas Cowboys may be finally coming to a resolution on a new contract for the star running back. 

After a week without hearing from the team, Murray's agent Bill Johnson and Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones met Monday evening, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.  

Perhaps feeling slighted by the lack of progress in negotiations, Murray deleted all references to the Cowboys from his Twitter bio early Tuesday morning. 

Murray led the NFL in rushing last season and is the premiere running back available in free agency, but he plays a position few teams have prioritized in recent seasons. 

While big-name free agents like Ndamukong Suh and Julius Thomas have reportedly worked out big-money deals with new teams, the market for Murray has been conspicuously quiet. 

Murray's nearly 500 touches (including playoffs) last season could be the primary factor scaring the Cowboys and other teams away from offering him a long-term contract. Very few running backs have recovered from such a heavy workload to produce strong numbers in back-to-back seasons.
