The San Francisco 49ers officially announced a five-year contract with wide receiver Torrey Smith.
Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports that the deal is for five years, worth $40 million with an $8-million signing bonus. The 49ers have yet to disclose the financial terms of the contract.
Smith spent the first four years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, helping defeat the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
The 26-year-old caught 49 passes for 767 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
San Francisco is undergoing a drastic makeover, with an almost completely new coaching staff and some of the team's longest-serving members opting to retire or join new clubs.
Smith will likely become Colin Kaepernick's favorite target and will be re-united with former Ravens teammate Anquan Boldin.
The deal was signed with a quill pen.
