Chiefs' coach Andy Reid wants Travis Kelce to gain 15 pounds

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had a solid season in 2014, but head coach Andy Reid still wants to see some changes.

Most notably with his weight, as Reid is hoping to see Kelce gain 15 pounds.

"It helps you in protection," Reid said Wednesday. "He’s got a good feel for that, kind of a knack. He got better at the line of scrimmage. He had dropped some weight early and he was able to gain some weight as we went on. He played as high as 265 at the college level, where I considered him a pretty good blocker. So he can function even with a little more weight added."

Kelce had 862 yards to go along with five touchdowns last year and speed was a big reason for it. Adding too much weight could hinder his greatest asset.

The Chiefs struggled to find production from past catchers last season and Kelce was one of the few who consistently produced. Reid may want to leave well enough alone.
