Darren Sharper's arraignment delayed until June 15
Darren Sharper's arraignment on three rape allegations has been delayed until June 15, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune's Ken Daley.
The five-time Pro Bowl safety was expected to plead guilty to two charges of aggravated rape, and one count of simple rape, but Orleans Parish Criminal District Court Judge Karen Herman ruled that Sharper's federal drug charges must be resolved before any further action can take place.
Sharper pleaded not guilty to drug distribution and possession charges in a New Orleans federal court Monday.
The 39-year-old already pleaded guilty to rape charges filed in Arizona and Nevada, while pleading no contest in California. Louisiana is the fourth state where Sharper faces rape allegations.
Under his global plea agreement, Sharper faces up to 20 years in prison.
