The St. Louis Rams have selected defensive end Martin Ifedi out of Memphis in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft, 227th overall.
Playing with the necessary length and leverage at the point of attack, Ifedi is a strong run defender capable of earning an early-down rotational role on the edge.
With the Rams already boasting one of the NFL's best defensive lines, however, consistent snaps could be hard to come by early on.

Strengths
- Has an impressive frame that could help make him an early-down contributor at defensive end.
- Plays with good length and the ability to use leverage at the line of scrimmage, getting underneath opposing offensive linemen and driving them back toward the quarterback. [NFL.com]
- Disciplined run defender, setting the edge and forcing the play back inside. Also demonstrates the awareness to find the ball and make the play himself. [CBS]
Weaknesses
- Athletic testing would indicate he lacks the baseline explosiveness for a speed rusher off the edge in the NFL, possibly making him somewhat one-dimensional in that area of the game.
- Unable to apply much pressure in the passing game due to slow movements off the snap. [NFL.com]
- Doesn't play with the speed or flexibility to bend the edge and become a consistent threat in that area. [CBS]
