The Cleveland Browns have selected linebacker Nate Orchard out of Utah in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Orchard is excellent in space and, although he doesn't possesses the best straight-line speed, the 6-foot-3 linebacker is consistently one of the first players around the ball.
The Utah product flies off of the line of scrimmage, largely due to strong anticipation skills. Orchard could play at either inside or outside linebacker for the Browns, but is a significant upgrade over Craig Robertson at left inside linebacker.

Strengths
- Flashes the ability to use his hands and length at the line of scrimmage, landing the first contact against the offensive tackle in his pass rush and maintaining good position.
- Can play in space and has enough experience dropping into coverage to make him a scheme-versatile edge defender.
- Impressive burst off the line of scrimmage, often winning with quickness and overall effort.
Weaknesses
- Struggles to hold ground against the run on the play side, often getting sealed off and pushed downfield.
- Will need to develop his pass-rush moves to avoid being easily neutralized at the next level.
- Could stand to add size if he's expected to take on an every-down role on the defensive edge and hold up against the run.
