The Philadelphia Eagles signed restricted free-agent defensive end Cedric Thornton to a one-year contract.
Thornton will be paid $2.356 million next season after signing a restricted free-agent tender, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The 27-year-old recorded 52 tackles and one sack in 2014, playing in all 16 games for the Eagles. Thornton signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2011, and hasn't missed a game in the past three seasons.
Thornton will compete with Vinny Curry for his starting spot along the defensive line.
