After years of skipping team-organized offseason workouts with the Detroit Lions, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has changed his ways in Miami.
The move is somewhat surprising given Suh's adamant stance against working out with teammates in the offseason during his time with the Lions. He chose to partake in a private offseason program in each of his five seasons with Detroit.
Suh will receive a $15,000 workout bonus for participating, which doesn't amount to much considering his $114-million contract with Miami. Suh's attendance at the team facility Monday appears to be a sign that he's buying into his role as a team leader with the Dolphins.
While Suh had personal success in Detroit, he's now saying all the right things from a team standpoint.
"To me, that's probably the most exciting piece about it because that's where you really build a culture, and a culture that's going to want to succeed and continue to succeed for many years to come," Suh said during his introductory press conference.
