Chargers' GM Telesco: Philip Rivers will be 'our quarterback well into the future'

San Diego Chargers general manager Tom Telesco is attempting to silence rumors that the team is planning to trade veteran quarterback Philip Rivers.
"Philip is our quarterback. It’s our plan and intent (that) he is our quarterback well into the future," Telesco said at a pre-draft press conference on Wednesday.
Telesco was adamant about Rivers remaining in the fold, stressing that he'd be with the Chargers "a long, long, long time."
Speculation has increased leading up to the draft that the Chargers would trade the veteran to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for the second-overall pick in the 2015 draft.
Rivers is entering the final year of his contract and is reportedly losing confidence in the Chargers' ability to surround him with talent.
