The San Francisco 49ers have selected tight end Blake Bell out of Oklahoma in the fourth round.
Bell will join a crowded 49ers' depth chart that includes tight ends Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald, Asante Cleveland, Derek Carrier and Garrett Celek.

Strengths
- Willing blocker in the running game and in pass protection.
- Demonstrates the necessary athleticism to both separate as a receiver downfield and pick up yards after the catch.
- Has experience lining up on the line of scrimmage, split out wide and in the backfield.
Weaknesses
- Still new to the tight end position after starting his college career as a quarterback.
- Despite athletic ability, his relative lack of experience as a route runner will necessitate a long development process to become a productive receiver.
- Would need to add strength and refine technique to be an effective in-line blocker at the NFL level.
