Report: Multiple teams believe La'el Collins will go undrafted amid legal troubles
Multiple NFL teams believe La'el Collins won't be drafted amid legal troubles that have plagued him in the days leading up to the draft, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
"There were teams telling me yesterday that he will not get drafted," Schefter said.
The offensive tackle out of LSU had been projected as a first-round pick, likely to be taken somewhere in the late teens Thursday night, but he voluntarily left Chicago to meet with police in Louisiana amid reports he was being sought for questioning in the shooting death of a pregnant woman, believed to be his former girlfriend.
All indications are that Collins is cooperating with the investigation and is not a suspect in the shooting, but without reliable information as to his status, teams could elect to pass.
