The New England Patriots have cut ties with cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The move will save the Patriots about $1 million in salary cap space.
Dennard slipped to the seventh round of the 2012 draft due to an incident in college for which he was later convicted of assaulting a police officer.
In three seasons with the Patriots, he appeared in 29 games (20 starts). He spent most of the 2014 season on injured reserve.
