Vikings' Wallace: 'Without a doubt, I'm the fastest player in the NFL'
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Mike Wallace believes he's the fastest player in the NFL.
"Without a doubt, I'm the fastest player in the NFL," Wallace told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press on Tuesday. "If somebody feels foggy about that, we can (race). I'm never going to back down from competition.''
Wallace claims his personal best in the 40-yard dash is 4.21, which would be an NFL Scouting Combine record. When he had the chance, Wallace ran a 4.33 at the combine in 2009. Wallace believes he could better that number now.
"I've run a lot of routes and I've got a lot of miles on my legs, but I still feel that there's nobody who can run with me,'' Wallace said. "I might have slowed down a little but I could still run 4.25.''
Running back Chris Johnson and receivers Dri Archer and Marquise Goodwin have all bested Wallace when electronically timed.
