Antonio Richardson announces retirement

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Antonio "Tiny" Richardson announced his retirement from the NFL on Saturday, one day after being released by the Minnesota Vikings.

A two-year starter at Tennessee, Richardson earned second-team All-SEC honors during his junior season after helping the Vols' offense gain 2,261 rushing yards, the most by the school since 2004.

The 23-year-old Richardson was signed by the Vikings in May 2014 as an undrafted free agent, but ended up spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve after undergoing two knee surgeries.
